Listening to music is general in our life. People enjoy listening to music. Even wherever they go like hospital, restrooms,stores,street,and so on, they can listen to music
eaily. They think listening to music may be able
to help feel better and make life enjoy. Can you believe that living without music in your life? I have never thought that. I cannot imagine it. Music was kind of best friend from long times ago. Music was good for our mind and soul.
According to the article "Is music a good
tool for health?", Elizabeth Scott said music has a great effect on our body and
mind. In fact, there is a health care as music therapy, which uses music to
heal. People start to use music therapy to help patients in hospital as pain
management, depression, to promote movement, to calm patients, to ease muscle
tension, and other benefits. For example, researchers said fast beats of music
make people sharper concentration. And slower beats of music make people calm
and meditative state. The research means music can bring benefits to our state
of mind. In other example, breathing and heart rate may be affected by music.
Music can help prevent the bad effects of stress, not only relaxation, but also
health. So, people try to listen to music for bring a positive mind, helping to
keep depression, trying to control their feeling.
I totally agree
with Elizabeth's idea, because I always listen to music these days. Even when I
make- up, take a shower, walk on the street, go to school, take a subway, and so
on. These days, I had chronic stress and felt sad, but if I listened to music, I
felt like getting better. So, I love to listen to music and agree with
Elizabeth's idea.
In my experience, I had read newspaper a few months
ago. The article was about music class in hospital. These days, Doctors
recommend to patients to take music class whenever they want to take in
hopsital. Doctors and patients listen to music as fast beats and slower beats
and then they discuss about the music. And also sometimes they sing a song and
dance together in class. Doctors think music is good tool for preventing
patents' diseases. So, they are using music to heal. And also patients said when
they take the class, they can forget that they are sick at least during the
class. So, they are satisfied to taking the alss. They can keep tainking a
poistive way like music. Doctors and pateidnts can have a conversation each
other by music. The article was showing how music therapy is good for health. Even not only the patients felt good things from music therapy, but also doctors. In my opinion, when I read the article from newspaper, I was
surprised and I think the music class need to be popular in the world. And Even not patients, other people can enjoy with music and can be consoled from music. I think that is how music therapy works and what is the music to everyone.
Thus, Elizabeth Scott said music is a good tool for health, because
music can bring a more positive mind, help control our emotions, and make feel
better. And also poeple can react by music. So, I agree with Elizabeth's idea
that music is a good tool for health.

Blog #7- (CATW Practice 2)- Individualism in Groups
People can go through so many
happenings in their life. Sometimes, some bad situation can approach to people
who are in a group or who are individuals. People tend to have different
behavior towards a situation.
According to the article “ In Groups
we shrink” by Carol Tavris, she said when people are in group, they act
differently than they are on their own. If one person is in danger situation,
the person will try to figure out by own-self or go to someone’s help. However
when there are people in bad situation, they do not know how to act and hold
back. Psychologists call this “diffusion of responsibility” or “social loafing.”
People in a group become lazier than individual. And they think nothing needs
to do for the dangerous situation, because they think someone else will take
care about it. I agree with Carol Tavris’ idea that is people act different in
different situations. I think that people who are in groups do not want to get embarrassed
or make a fool by themselves. So, they tend to stay in the background.
In my experience, I watched movie that was
Korean movie. The movie was talking about that how people are selfish and how
people do not want to be a fool these days. Main character was dreaming that he
was walking on the street. There were two guys were fighting hard on the
street. Many people were looking at the guys. Even one guy was bleeding heavily
and the guy almost died, but the other guy never stopped. But the problem was
nobody made the guys stop. They just cheered and watched the guys. The main
character was shocked about that, but even he could not say anything. He was so
confused by himself like he should make stop or not. He wanted to make stop,
but he was scared of others’ eyes. He did not want to be a fool and get
embarrassed, because that was not his business. Finally, He woke up and sat
down the bed. After then, he reminded the dream. And he felt a guilty, because
he did not make them stop. And he thought he was scared of others’ eyes, if
there were just him and the two guys, would he make them stop? And why did no
one care about them? It was really selfish and stupid behaviors. Even he knew
it was wrong, but he could not do anything. After I watched the movie, I
totally agreed with the movie that talked about how people are selfish and
having different act in different situation. And also I thought I was same as
the main character, because sometimes, I tend to stay in the background. I am
scared of bad situation that if I am in dangerous situation, but no one care
about me. What should I do in the situation? It really makes me be scared. I
can be a victim. So, I think everyone should follow and should not stay back.
